Claimed to be from some charity representing Noah’s Ark charity. Started going through the script about Covid, strange times, struggling for funds etc. Before he got the point where he asked me for a donation, I told him that If I wanted to donate to a charity of my choice, I would do it myself. I would not be doing it over the phone to a complete stranger claiming to from a charity. Probably a scam.

I think the number shown on my mobile may be a spoof number to prompt me to reply and be diverted to the premium rate real number. This is the second time in 2 days I have reported a problem. Once to my landline, this one to my mobile. Really getting sick of the extent of the problem. Had 90 junk mails yesterday. Maybe need to change email address and phone numbers, big inconvenience.

SCAM: Obviously a spoofed number- supposedly calling from my local area. An Indian sounding woman announced herself and said she was calling from BT. I don't have my phone line from BT, so I put on a silly voice & asked her if it was nice where she was, or was it raining? She ended the call.

This number has been "Spoofed" as there is no business in Neath where this number is based which is a lawyers etc. The number is being used by an overseas call centre to generate leads. My mother had a text from this number stating that their had been fraudulent activity, she had apparently spent ?40,00 in Argos this morning which she hadn t. Someone rang from that number claiming to be from Natwest but my mum was sceptical so she rung off and called me. I looked up a real number for Natwest (0800 011 3312) which she rang.
