I once had a phonecall from these "We've heard you've recently been in an accident" so I said yeah I was parachuting and as I was coming in to land I went through the windscreen of a lorry. Received call from this number today and it was a bad line so I was asking is anybody there at the same time as the guy started with 'Hi there maam, this is.....' he then disconnected the call. So no idea who or what company the number is from. It did come up on my phone as being London location and I am Manchester.

I received a call that sounded like an automated recording claiming that I had had unusual activity on my visa card. I believed it to be a scam call so I just hung up.

Fraud purport to be BT openreach and after prolonged instructions on front of computer ask to download and run "anydesk" which is legitimate software but not in the hands of these con artists.
Fraud SPAM SCAM Told that I am being called from Visa Security Department saying that there has been a fraudulent purchase made for around £900 from my amazon or ebay account and whether I want to stop this fraudulent payment when no such purchase has been made or is even pending from my bank account. Claimed to be able to save me money on my mobile phone bill. Claimed originally to be from EE, but that isn't my provider, he then argued with me about my provider - he eventually hung up. I always keep them talking as much as possible to save the next poor victim.

Had 3 calls so far today, 1 in morning 2 afternoon, all hang up after I pick up, regardless of wait time. No one knows my landline either, so don’t know how it’s being called unless it’s malicious. Other numbers that called to same extent were 01330 560922 and 01689 814765, both equally as perplexing.
No-one one spoke when I answered. Then called again twice, but it stopped before having the chance to answer.

Claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service. I asked them where they were and he said London. I asked how the weather was in London, and he said the weather was fine. I replied and said it was raining in London, to which he said that he likes rain so it is fine. I called him a liar, he hung up. Scam.

Had the same as Judit when trying to call back after missing the call, which first showed up as an 0113 number in Edinburgh. Rang again today on this number and I answered: Indian guy with thick accent saying I had a car on finance in the last 8 years. Obviously this applies to most people. I just hung up. This occurred the day after listing my car for sale, so it's obviously a scam targeting those selling cars on Gumtree or Autotrader. I doubt they could tell you anything about yourself if you asked.
