The exact number was 01340 831714. After searching it here, I called the number back. It has a BT call screener on it. A Scottish sounding older lady picked up the phone. I told her my name and said I'd had a missed call from her number at 7:47am this morning (3-3-23). Her reply? "No, not me, no you haven't" and then she put the phone down. Apparently a company called UK National. Called wanting to ask questions around my personal data, which I wouldn't provide. Requested how the caller had access to my data and to remove it, else will be reporting to the ICO. Caller had no idea what the ICO/GDPR was.

Credit card/bank account scam. Recorded message stated unusually high values transactions had occurred. Did a quick online check of my accounts and there were no such transactions.

This number calls and claims to be investors. Very rude individuals who call and push you to invest and they are so rude when you decline. They keep changing numbers but it is the same network of people - they are using different numbers to call - I have already blocked at least 10 other numbers they have used to contact me- stay well clear of them please!! If anyone has any idea how to stop them from calling please advise.

Text message left claiming to be from a child of mine, but didn’t give a name. Asked me to WhatsApp them and this was their new number, for a new phone as the old number was for the old damaged phone. It just struck me as odd so ignored and then blocked the number. I believe it was an attempt to get me to engage and was a scam.
