Phoned me when I said hello phone went dead. Then I got a text msg saying "Sorry I ll call later" Needless to say I did not call them back and if the number calls me again I will cancel the call. so annoying, why do they do this? I would not do any business with them!

IT'S A DANGEROUS SCAM! A computer is dialling numbers in sequence to sniff out voice lines. If you speak then the line is detected as 'an active voice line' and logged as such, a scammer will then be calling you later! If you don't recognize the number calling DON'T SPEAK, JUST LISTEN! If you don't hear a voice and then the line goes dead then congratulations - you have just successfully escaped being scammed! THESE CALLS ARE HARASSING AND ALWAYS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS!
Definitely a scam. BT, Openreach, TalkTalk, Virgin etc., will never call you about a technical issue unless you contact them.

Phonecall from local-ish number(Chesterfield) said it was Jenny from the Hearing Centre and that she understood I previously worked in a noisy environment. I said No and she promptly hung up - didn t get to ask whether she had the right person or where she got my number from. SCAM Rang at 7.20am this morning. Claiming to be from tps. Could hardly understand her, obviously in a call centre. When I questioned WHY she was waking us up at 7.20am she put the phone down.
