Back again, they phoned my mobile yesterday and today my landline. Local garage had my contact numbers 2 years ago when I bought a car. In the past has just been postal advertising. The number is in Runcorn so misrepresentation of fact! Answered the phone with what are you selling, told them not to phone again as I don t want to buy a car. I left this comment on the Voxbone SA Scam Number function, which is apart of their website. Number seems to possibly be a missed call scam of a 0845 number. The number calls at around exactly the same time everyday, and leaves a voicemail that is completely blank. The idea of the scam is to make the mobile owner not pick up, but cost them on their next bill. Even though the caller did not initiate the call, the phone company will state they did. This is the latest number using the old con about your IP address being compromised and will be cut off in 24 hours. The message was in an American accent, for fun I pressed 1 and was put through to an Indian call centre. I could hear lots of voices in the background. Unfortunately the line went dead before I could wind them up. The number is now barred!

They stated they were HMRC and that I had an open action against my National Insurance number that needed immediate action, or will result in my NI number being suspended. I think this is a boiler room operation, touting for investment. Even after you tell them where to get off, they still call back many times. A boiler room operation is one which hypes "investments" which probably don t exist and you lose your money. Worryingly they knew my name.
