They had my name and phone number, and wanted to ask me about payment protection insurance. They said the call centre is in South Africa, and the accents would support that. I asked how they had my number. "National consumer database", which I said sounds a fictitious name. The supervisor told me their alleged company name, and another highly ambiguous trading name, and had me look up their website.
