"Received text to call 03456031832. Genuine HSBC fraud prevention, called their fraud prevention via landline who confirmed they needed to contact me."
Rang HSBC on the number on my card and they said they hadn't sent any message to me? Confused.
Positive
"Yes this is a genuine number. Puts you through immediately to a human, however they will need to verify who you are, so have your card or bank details ready (sort code etc). I was travelling at the time, so only had card details on me; lady sorted it all out on that alone. If you use the emergency number they have on the card itself, you get connected to an automated response - and that must have all your account details before you get connected to a human, so takes lots longer."

"This was a genuine call and text (very badly written, and call included a poorly recorded computerised message, so I am not surprised people are suspicious!) I double checked it was genuine by calling through HSBC Premier to be transferred. The fraud detection system had flagged a transaction I had tried to make online as suspicious. It was in fact genuine and they have reset the card accordingly. Glad they are on the ball, but the messages could be much better written/recorded."

"Received a text message from HSBC Premiere asking me to ring this number urgently, their Fraud prevention. I didn't want to risk calling this directly so went through the normal number on the back of my card. It was a genuine number, but I felt more confident going through the normal number snd then being transferred to Fraud Prevention."

SCAM. Advertises dog for sale. Uses photos of someone else’s dog, never with a person always on its own. Takes a deposit which he wants putting into a business account
Clearly tries to delay things then gives you random addresses
Blocks you if you try and get in touch
This number comes from a agency in London working on behalf of the times newspaper.
If you answer them tell them you want their registered address so you can bill them ?10 per minute, that ll get rid of them, but if the do recall then send them a invoice sent as tracked, and they have to pay you if you pursue to a small debt court. That should get rid of them once and for all.
