SCAM A gentleman rang and claimed he was from microsoft, he said we had been sent 14 messages that we ignored to say we had been hacked so he was ringing to help. wanted us to sign into our computer while he stayed on the phone so he could help fix it if we followed his instructions. A Leeds number claiming to be HMRC.Voicemail asking me to ring their number or face legal consequences.Do these people think I have just fallen out of a tree!

I have ignored several calls from this number over the past few days. It is mentioned on http://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly-services/scam/td-p/1663414 It might be someone marketing on behalf of Vodafone or just someone pretending to be Vodafone.
Pre-registered message saying I did tax evasion and there is an arrest warrant on my name, but they knew my name. Asked to press 1 to get more information, I didn't, so they hang up. Checked on HMRC's website and apparently, this is a common scam.
