I got scammed like the last two posters on Saturday 26th June, but at Frankley on the M5 at around 11.30am. I reported it to West Midlands Police and to Action Fraud but have not had a follow up from either yet. Silver Vauxhall VIG2342, very convincing and grateful manner, same story about returning from Belgium and needing money to get back to Ireland and feed his children, same mobile number (07721 950844) - also introduced me to his children and happy to show me his ID. This number rang today but hung up part way through the answerphone message. After reading comments here and elsewhere, I rang and asked for our number to be removed from their database. The guy I spoke to was happy to do this and also happy to tell me that the third party from whom they receive numbers is Communications Avenue. Looks like these are the people we should really be shutting down. A quick Googke shows that they re based in Newark.

This number purports to send messages from Gov.uk, offering energy rebates. My wife pays the electricity bill not me so I was very suspicious when I was saved for my energy company and then the card details with which the company was paid. Pretty sure it is a scam
