Caller claimed to work for BT regarding alleged ' illegal activity ' on my broadband, wanting to know how I accessed my broadband and what devices I used, claiming there were ' files being downloaded on your broadband in the background' affecting my broadband. When challenged about his authenticity he offered to give me a code, presumably as an intro to asking me to access some website or give further personal details. When I said I'd contact BT myself to find if there was an issue with my broadband.

SCAM Automated message (computerised American) allegedly from HMRC stating that i am being investigated and an arrest warrent has been issued against me. Tells you to press 1 to suspend action. DO NOT DO THIS I work for HMRC so knew that the message was bogus. Personally i don't find it to be convincing but others may do
A better way to find out would be to contact the people who sold the house to you. They must know who they paid their bills to!

Hard to know whether or not this was a scam call though it had some hallmarks. The caller's voice sounded like someone who phoned from a different number only yesterday and the MO was similar. She asked to speak with Mrs N (my mother) and when I said she wasn't available she couldn't get off the phone quickly enough; refused to share the name of the organisation she was calling from and said she'd get someone to call later. I don't think this is the way legit businesses operate. I blocked the number.

Automated voice said it was national Insurance and that a fraud had been carried out with my NI number and that a prosecution was starting against me and to press 1 for more details. Had a similar call last week from a different number saying I was being investigated for tax fraud.

Telemarketing Indian sounding guy called. Had TV on but caught Alex Smith from UK ...... so said sorry what company are you? Reply was fcuk you, said sorry who ( as seemed to be talking to another) again got same response and he hung up. Looked up number and it appears to be UK Choice a marketing call centre in Leeds. Been polite before to them but all you get on answering questions is loads more cold calls from companies saying I understand you are looking for x or life insurance. Walk under a bus mate.

My call was a friendly call from the restaurant I had ordered from asking if I could change an item as it wasn’t available. Seems to be the generic Uber number for restaurants to call to get in contact with you.
