Especially if you are an Apple user, you will know how annoying it can be. However, Apple offers the option to reset your Apple ID password in a number of ways.
Step 1: Go to appleid.apple.com and click Forgot Apple ID or Password in the middle of the page. Please note that your password may automatically fill the login screen from the drop-down menu. Especially when you check the Remember Me box, you can search for it first and see how it works.
Step 2: You will be redirected to a page where you need to enter your Apple ID which will mainly be the primary email address set for your Apple account. You will be taken to a new page where you must enter your name and the email address associated with your account. Now click on Continue and then on the "I need to reset my password" option. Note that if you have set up two-factor authentication, you will be asked to confirm your phone number for authentication.
Step 3: Now you will be able to choose how to reset your password by email or by answering security questions. Choose an option depending on your preferences.
Step 4: For the email method, you will be prompted to send instructions to the primary email address you provided. You can also choose an additional email id. If you don't see your email, check your Spam, Junk, and Trash folders or try the steps again. If you choose the security questions option, you'll need to confirm your date of birth and answer specific questions to create a new password.
How do I reset my password via account recovery?
Step 1: You will see Ask for Account Recovery when performing the steps from iForgot or iOS. Choose it.
Step 2: Enter a phone number where Apple can contact you after accessing your account. The company will send you a verification code to confirm the phone number. Enter the code to verify your personal information. Apple will send you a confirmation when asked to recover your account by phone or SMS.
Step 3: After a while, Apple will call or text you once your account is ready.
Step 4: Go to iforgot.apple.com. Enter your Apple ID and the phone number you used in the previous steps.
Step 5: You will get another call or SMS with the specified account recovery code. Go to the iForgot website and enter the code.
Step 6: Select Continue to finish password reset.
