Title: Apple officially announced the next generation operating system for iPad - iPadOS 15
description: Apple recently officially announced the next generation operating system for iPads - iPadOS 15, based on iOS 15. The system update will be available for iPad support later this spring and includes many iPad-centric features that leverage both the Apple Pencil and big screen real estate. The iPadOS 15 update is tailored for large-screen devices, which now offers improved web browsing similar to Mac using Safari.
What does iPadOS 15 allow?
iPadOS 15 now allows users to insert widgets between apps, as does iOS 14 and the App Library. We found out that iPadOS 15 also gets offline Siri support, so users will now be able to issue Siri commands even without an active Internet connection. Apple has improved multitasking on iPads running iPadOS 15. There is also a new shelf feature that allows users to create custom apps to create different combinations of apps for easy access to split screen. Quick Note is a unique iPad feature that allows users to access the note app by swiping up from the corner, which is useful for taking notes while browsing the internet or even watching videos. I must admit that this is a very convenient solution.
There is also a developer tool. At the moment, Apple has not announced any specific iPad Pro features, which is troublesome, especially given the capabilities of the new iPads with an M1 processor and up to 16GB of RAM.
SharePlay is another new feature available in both iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 that allows users to watch shows with friends on platforms such as AppleTV +, DisneyPlus Hotstar, and other platforms.
The developer version is now available for download. However, the version for the rest of users will have to wait a little longer.
