Title: Google Voice Warning
description: Google Voice will display a large red warning sign if an incoming call is spam.
The new label is a visual cue to help users become aware and alert. As you know, we encounter spam every day. It often happens that even several times a day we wonder whether to pick up a number from an unknown number.
Can the new feature help protect users from nuisance calls and potentially dangerous scams? In our opinion, definitely yes.
However, keep in mind that Google Voice is different from the Google Dialer app for Android smartphones. The app allows users to view calls before answering them.
How do I use automatic spam flagging in Google Voice?
Google Voice users will need to turn off Filter Spam by going to Settings > Security > Filter Spam if they want to see an automatic spam label for calls that are suspected to be spam. After that, you will have the option to confirm whether the call is a spam call or not. Users will also have the option to mark the number as spam. Any future calls from the same number will go straight to voicemail or go to your spam folder.
