We found out that WhatsApp will be working on redesigning the contact information for iOS. At the moment, we know that the feature related to profile photos in notifications is made available to people who have at least beta 2.22.1.1 on iOS 15.
WhatsApp added support for profile pictures in Alerts some time ago in beta 2.22.1.1. This way, when a user receives messages from chats and groups, the sender's profile picture will appear in the notification. Improvements are in the pipeline.
Both of these updates came after WhatsApp worked on the changed contact information page layout during a previous test implementation.
What is known about the shortcut coming soon?
A special search shortcut may be available on the updated Contact Information page. It will be limited to iOS users at first and will be expanded in the future. Now all we have to do is wait for the news.
