The UK has numerous bank holidays throughout the year, and 2023 and 2024 will be no different. All bank holidays in the United Kingdom are designated by The Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971, which determines when the public should have an extra day off work. Northern Ireland also observes an additional bank holiday called Battle of the Boyne, which is held on 12th July. This holiday commemorates the victory of Protestant William of Orange over Catholic King James II at the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.
