they knew my name. Called and said they were informed that I had a car accident recently which of course I did not. How do they know my name?

I know it was the Bank of Scotland as they were calling me about a specific query on my account, I had emailed them yesterday.... no cold calling, no upselling of products. just customer service.

Still getting the same PPI calls again from these morons once again. These are the same PPI cold callers, and I still play I play along with them with them when I answer the phone. I normally speak to a South African chap who then starts to get very aggressive and loud when I asked him simple questions repeats himself once again. Received a call from this number, answered but no-one spoke. Decided to stay on the line to see what happened. Complete silence for about 30 seconds then the line went dead. When I 1471 d I got the number 0161 918 0023. On calling the number, I am informed that "This number is temporarily out of order"! Can someone please explain to me the legality of this? Called claiming to be Scottish Power. I stupidly went through the security questions (address and DOB) as I am in process of leaving Scottish Power. He then said I had a balance to pay on the account and would I like to pay by card.
