Claimed to be from Amazon and that someone had attempted to purchase about £500 of goods on my account. I hung up, put the number on my BT blacklist and checked my Amazon account which was OK.

Definitely not from Redruth! It was an Indian call centre . . . from British Telecom (oh, really?) telling me I had a fault on my internet. Be very careful out there!
