Claim to be from BT Openreach about issues with our router. Shame we’re not with that company. She kept insisting that even though we weren’t with them she needed to tell us about these issues with her router. When I challenged her about the fact that it was a scam and how could she live with herself and that BT had nothing to do with our router and couldn’t see our router she stuck to her guns that she was legit and needed to tell us what was happening with our router. This number has called four times in the past 24 hours, claiming to be from TalkTalk. I called TalkTalk who said it is not their number. When the number called back (from a call centre overseas) they hung up when I informed there I knew it was a scam call.

Worst of the worst. Very ABUSIVE! Told me I had claimed PPI and I will co-operate . I tried putting him straight (a man with a strong Welsh accent) said: you should go see your GP as I think you ve got alzeheimer s or something . Surely this is bordering on the criminal?!

Indian-sounding voice (female and obviously not very experienced) announced a problem with my BT broadband. I played along until she asked if I was in front of my PC. When I told her loudly I knew it was a scam, she told me to shut up several times. Ten mins later a male rang with the same story, got short shrift from me. Today it was this Brighton number, previously a Portsmouth one. I get these calls a lot!
