Male, English accent, called and said he was from a company which had provided me with a service to stop nuisance calls (it hadn't, so I cancelled it). He said it was coming to an end (it expired in November last year) and the company was going to take £142 out of my account as a "closure payment". He then said they had my debit card details (naming my bank) and wanted me to confirm the card number. This Ardrossan number seems to be used for a classical telemarketing, or it is a directly some general call centre. They usually work for some third company and call with offer of some goods or services for the actual company they were hired for. In this case the number is mostly reported in connection with PPI/accident claim company. Block it...
For the last week I have received calls from this number. Each time I have answered to have either an automated message played informing me to call them back or they have simply hung up. Today I answered to actually speak to a person, claiming that my bank could have "let me down" with insurance (basically, another PPI company). I told them to remove my number from the books completely and if they continue to call and harass me I ll be taking it further.
