Put ad on Gumtree to sell a car. Got call from this number about my "car accident". They knew my first name from Gumtree and of course my car type. They claimed they are from "National Help Line", a GOVERNMENT department. They advised that I do not speak to my lawyer. Asked about the company name I received a name that shows up as "dissolved" on Company's House and also specialising in meat products, not car accidents.

Fed up of this number calling my mobile phone.
An English speaking man called to say he was from the nuisance call company that I had signed up with. I told him I had cancelled it 2 years ago. He said I couldn't & I owe them money as it's a year service. The nuisance calls have never stopped! He reckoned he had my bank card number. When I told him I wouldn't pay he said he will hand it over to Admin & I will get a letter of refusal to pay. That rang back a few minutes later but when I answered it there was no-one there. Surely this is illegal!
