Asian caller claiming I was being awarded a government grant of £8000 for being a good citizen. The money was just for me to spend as I wished as long as it wasn't for illegal purposes. He gave me a 'unique' code DV678 and told me to ring 0203 2391126 immediately, quoting this code. He asked me to repeat the code and number to ensure I had it correctly written but became agitated when I said I couldn't ring now as I was on my way to work. Fraud: they are using a very old database, and claiming to be selling appliance insurance. When I said that the person they were trying to contact had not been on our number for over five years, the caller just hung up. No apologies, just rude. Hence, fraud/scam.
