While using my computer a message came up telling me to conct this number I phoned the number and they demanded money to remove the virus or they would shut my hard drive down.
This is a scam pretending to be an Amazon call centre as they had our email and then changed our Amazon account password, that generated an email to us with an OTD code. The scammer then wanted us to give him that code so they could take over the account. DO NOT GIVE THEM THAT CODE AND HANG UP THE CALL AND BLOCK THE NUMBER

SCAMthese people seem to have a whole bank of these numbers from 02045688800 at least up to the same ending with 23. Probably more. Complete scam. seems to tell different people they are energy advsiors, driveway sales, insulation etc. other sites have other reports. They are using the market research scam on the number 02045688817 to attempt to get around the cold calling scam. Block them. Ofcom needs to get a grip on these scammers.
