SCAM. This is a scam pretending to be BT and claiming suspicious activity has been detected and internet connection will discontinued. Definitely a scam - the terminology used is incorrect and the grammar is poor. Do not press 1 to speak to one of their “executives “. Hang up and block/delete this number.
Not sure who this is that called me, but I have been receiving a lot of ppi calls already this year.
Call received at 08:30am on 15th June. Silence on the line when answered
I also got this call: at 18.49 on 11 June 2014. Chinese or Japanese voice I think. I recognised it from the scam publicity. Claimed to be Microsoft Security Dept and that there was a serious fault with my system, but wouldn t specify what it was. He knew my address and my wife s name. He must have got those details and the phone number from PC World, where she made a purchase recently. Her first computer purchase in her own right. Previously, I ve done it. Someone at PC World is selling these details.
