Banking SCAM Computer generated voice informs that your bank has received spending requests along the lines of £300 to Amazon and £1100 international transfer and asks you to respond by pressing buttons on your keypad. Standard unimaginative phishing attempt and easily spotted.
Another scammer who was talking something about Slovak Government.
Fraud Offers a discount for being a 'loyal' customer... They send you a link from three website to reset your memorable info then say it will take 24 hours to complete but if you give them your password now they can verify it now. Never give anyone your password BEWARE!!!!!!!
Called 01.06.23 at 12.16. Did not recognise the number so did not answer, no message left.
I had a phone call from 02922229992 clalming to be Eon, who asked if I wanted a 'Smart meter', they wanted my account details.... RED FLAG!!!!! Eon SHOULD have my account details - well, they certainly had my phone number. I contacted Eon and they told me to block the number it wan't them....! To be hones't I wondered if this was some dirty trick Eon had dreamed up - how would THEY know I had no Smart meter..... and how did they get my phone number, no prizes for guessing sorry. Fraud Naveed Akram from Blackburn who gives a sob story about having no Work. Asks for Petrol Money up front as he can't afford it. Then does not carry out the Collection you booked him for & can't Refund the Money as he doesn't have it !
Said they were Virgin Media but obviously were not. They have called repeatedly over the last week.
SCAM: pretended to be from Virgin Media, seemed affronted I asked for the name attached to the account, then hung up.
