Calls started today from this number from Portsmouth, I've had loads of other calls from similar numbers from Portsmouth too so I'm guessing it's a scam

This number is used for financial fraud
Domestic and General insurance, they only let it ring a couple of times before hanging up.
Answered and immediately a pre-recorded message said something like: "Thank you. Now that your number has been verified we will call you back shortly." and hung up. Looks like I just got added to another spam list! Blocked.
SCAM I received a whats app message from this number claiming to be my son who had lost his phone and this was his new number. I tried to call the number they picked up the phone and then I was cut off. I could hear someone in the background. I then received another message saying the "microphone doesn't work he is getting it fixed on Thursday". Scam pretended to be virgin media n wanted to confirm account name i said Paul (not real name) n he agreed that was right n also I don't even have a virgin media contract ln any name from my household
