silent call

have had 3 missed calls from this number today,no message left on voicemail so they must be trying to sell me something i don t need,but after reading comments that have been left for this number i certainly wont be answering any calls now.

This was Durham County Council, they were trying to arrange a visit to come out and see me about a "query" on my housing benefit claim.

I receive calls from this number on my mobile, home phone and work phone, they purport to be from Lloyds Bank, they ask for your date of birth and postcode, I ask them who they are, and what it is about, they say it is a personnel banking matter, I ask them to tell me more in general terms, they tell me to contact my bank, i tell them I have, I then ask them to stop calling me and remove me from their data base and to write instead . I bought a car from Bayliss Motors of Cheltenham and this was just a courtesy call. I didn't recognise the number so I checked it out before calling back. No problem.

I too received a call at a funeral at 1020 this morning about so-called PPI, when asked how they got a ex directory number, they were reluctant to answer their source. I informed them a complaint will be submitted for their harrassment, I have also sent a letter to the BBC Panorama. programme who are investigating companies under various names. Had this number - 01269849892 - ring today 7/10/15, this Asian sounding guy wanted to speak to my wife, I told him no, what did he want ? and that she wasn t available, I then told him that my number was ex-directory, he insisted he wanted to talk to her, so I told him you re not listening do NOT ring this number again.... Had a call at 1221 today, 12 Jan 17 but caller left no message, so obviously a scam/spoof/marketing call. Tried ringing the number back but got a Sky Voicemail Service. Tried calling the number again at 1530 this afternoon, only to have an automated message saying the Voicemailbox was full & could not take any more messages. Cold call which started playing a script about the cold caller being pressured to read script. Obviously trying to get me to sympathise with cold caller. I hung up before finding out what they were trying to push. Probably PPI

Auto message started "Please hold........" I hung up. Getting realy annoyed at cold callers and auto callers. I am on Telephone Preference Scheme and they still call. Even after I tell them politely I am on TPS and to remove my number. Further calls from the same number I am less polite too. Sooner or later I may reach the stage where I will only have the last resort of blowing a whistle down the line to see if that stops them.
