Sadly this IS British gas I phoned them and they admitted that yes they do make presumptive appointments for smart meter installs with the onus on the customer to cancel them The appointment was also on my British Gas online account There is currently NO obligation to have smart meters installed Sadly you cant cancel the appointment online you have to phone them Ive not cancelled yet but put my details in an online complaint and instructed them to cancel it If need be Ill make the call before the appointmen

I spoke to these people once only and asked them not to call again. They ignored my request and ring me every day at all times. I never answer. VERY ANNOYING.
They have rang me 5 times all from a different number but same area and same nuisance 'can i speak to the homeowner" told them twice not interested but still persist. BLOCKED ON ALL 5 NUMBERS but seems they have a lot of phone lines :(

I received a call from this number this morning. The speaker claimed to be from Cellphone Warehouse, offering deals on new mobiles, and asking what kind of mobile I currently had. I told him that I already have enough mobiles and wasn't interested in getting more. He then hung up.

I couldn't find any info for this specific number, but as I can see people do search for this number on different similar pages, and there are more similar numbers reported (016181491xx - just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume all the numbers belong to the same call centre.
