Foriegn caller from number 01392274111 said he was calling from BT open reach and that I had a problem with my broadband, that I wasn't receiving the service I should be. When I said I didn't have any problem with my broadband he abruptly hung up. Blocked. Something needs doing about these scam callers.

Auto message started "Please hold........" I hung up. Getting realy annoyed at cold callers and auto callers. I am on Telephone Preference Scheme and they still call. Even after I tell them politely I am on TPS and to remove my number. Further calls from the same number I am less polite too. Sooner or later I may reach the stage where I will only have the last resort of blowing a whistle down the line to see if that stops them.

The person that called was an electronic message advising that an Amazon PRIME payment would be taken and asked me to connect with them to discuss. This I did not do and just hung up as I am NOT an Amazon prime member. I then placed this on my caller bared list using 1572. I rang the the numer and BT advised that the number was not recognised after I had entered 012551470. This phone number MUST be a phising type number.

I too received a call at a funeral at 1020 this morning about so-called PPI, when asked how they got a ex directory number, they were reluctant to answer their source. I informed them a complaint will be submitted for their harrassment, I have also sent a letter to the BBC Panorama. programme who are investigating companies under various names. SCAM - beware if a supposed family member sends a WhatsApp message saying they’ve lost their phone and that this is their new number. Whoever it was tried to scam 4K from me by pretending to be my son in trouble. Luckily the amount was too much to even think about sending it without speaking to him. So please please make sure you know who you’re talking to. If it had been a smaller amount I may have considered sending it.
