SCAM Unusually, this was actually an English person on the other end of the phone rather than a call centre setting from India etc! The number rang my works mobile at 10:05 09/05/2023. The person on the other end spoke very well and professional, saying that they were calling from HSBC, and were making me aware of activity in my account that looked suspicious, that money was being taken out by an advertising firm. SCAM. I am listing this unknown, to me, number as a scam number because it only rang a few times and cut off without leaving a message. I do not know anyone from Whitehaven either. If they don't leave a message best to ignore the call and consider it suspicious!

SCAM Claims to be from BT calling about internet problems that I do not have. This is a number from a block operated by Virgin Media so why would BT be using it? BEWARE!

SCAM Message popped up on my laptop stating that it was in danger of being hacked and had been temporarily blocked. The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Pretending to be from Amazon and saying that I had a £900 transaction taken from my Amazon account and wanted me to follow their instructions and put a code in my phone I told him to call me back in 10 minutes as my daughter would be speak to him and she works with the police he hung up. I did know it was a scam that’s why I said it. I just feel sorry for the people that they do trap as they are scum. If you don’t No them hang up. And don’t give them any of your details.
