SPAM they say it is Amazon and that over £700 has been debited re an iPhone 13. I have to ask why they are allowed to do this. They are clearly up to no good and some will fall for it!

This is a scam number, and probably all numbers 023821464**. Asian sounding voice said he was from "Amazon Fraud Department" and that my account had been compromised (I don't have an Amazon account). He quoted, correctly both my mobile number and my house phone number. Told me that the account would be frozen. He said I m sorry for the mistake - but am I aware of the cost of funerals. I asked if he was aware of how the TPS worked and he said yes, but he would still like to discuss the cost of funerals, is that s ok?. please do not give any information to this number. they are posing as amazon saying you have membership with prime , auto message saying you are going to be charged seven pounds for prime and if you want to cancel press 1 if you dont want to cancel you will be charged seventy pounds , so i tried to get it cancelled explaining not with prime and they asked me silly questions and tried to get onto my amazon page with remote service , i soon cottoned on and told them were to go

Claimed to be from carphone warehouse, as soon as I went to speak they hung up. A quick google shows the number is linked to an unrelated government contract which is concerning. I suspect they were phoning only to see if I would answer.

I m ashamed to say that I worked for Ben Reynolds for a short time back in 2012 when his company was called Crown Lawyers. Same story as these, he d get us to find people with debts, take a fee from them and then cut off all contact with them. Supposedly we d get a commission for every job taken on, but he d tell us that the person had decided not to go ahead with recovering their debt and so we got nothing. We then found out that they had agreed to pursue the debt and Ben just wanted to avoid paying us
