A foreigner called saying he was from British Gas who handle our Electricity account. Only British Gas doesn't handle our electricity account? I advised him that I suspected he was a scammer. I advised him not to call us again otherwise I would report the number to the Information Commissioners. I then ended the call.

Always phone at the wrong time so cut.

When I explained that I did not have a phone line from BT any more, I asked how could he know that my internet connection had been compromised. There was a few moments of silence while he thought of a suitable answer, then he said that the phone lines were provided by BT.
