SCAM. Answered the phone to hear a recorded message saying that a tax fraud claim had been raised against me and if I did not discuss this immediately that somebody will be sent to my house with a warrant for my arrest.

I received 3 calls in a day. I Googled the number and saw this and other threads. The girl said she was called Sophie Joyce (surname given after I questioned her for it) and the company she was working for was Outspire Insource on behalf of EE. Started trying to sell me some new deals. I revealed that I had Googled the number and had read that a number of people had posted to say it was a scam. In that situation, if it was a proper company acting as they claim then I d expect the other person to deny it was

They are an Indian call centre who use spoof caller ID numbers. Do not trust them! Block them with a call blocker (you may need to block VOIP calls)or answer the call something like this: "This is the FBI - we have you surrounded! Come out with your hands up! All units - GO! GO! GO!" That should make them hang up!
