This is Maidstone Police Station. Ignore people who say it s not. I went into the police station to report a motorist for smashing into my car and leaving the scene, spent an hour with a detective and that same detective called me using this number a few minutes ago. This is DEFINITELY Kent Police.

My brother got a call from this number asking for a gas meter reading. He was not sure where the caller was from but a 1471 and internet search brought up this number as belonging to British Gas. However I am not with British Gas but with Southern Electric, for at least the last 6 years. I called Southern Electric who said they did not call for any reading and would not do so. This number called me twice this morning. When I called back, I got a pre-recorded message saying they would call me back another time. I had exactly the same from them last year and asked them to remove me from their database then, request obviously ignored.

The guy said there is a Warren against me and blah blah blah .yea scammers from India for sure

I got this call today and decided to look it up to find these comments. I never answer my mobile to numbers I Dont know, if it s important they will leave a answer message. Everyone should be doing the same, as once you answer they know you line is active, they will then sell you number to other company s. I used to get at least 7 a day from different numbers but now only recieve 1, most days I don t get any anymore.

It seems to be a call from domestic and general!!! Keep ringing me few times every day this week. Very annoying!!!!

Pretended they knew who I was and that they had a PPI payment for me if I would just confirm my details. Needless to say they hadn t and I didn t. They didn t even know my name.

After the usual delay, while the auto-dialer connected me to a scammer, I heard a voice with a foreign accent shouting "Phone! Phone!" Then some mumbled words in a foreign language and they hung up. I think they could do with some work on their phone script.
