I assume it was an automated call from some seller and that the call was dropped because those companies employ systems that phone multiple numbers from their sales telephone lists and when calls are connected they switch them through to their sales reps or similar. SCAM - HMRC Scam. Called me this morning and I let it go to voicemail due to unknown number. Replayed the message and automated robot voice telling me that I better contact HMRC via their number or "face the legal consequences". Classic scumbo's trying it on. HMRC will write to you officially or contact your accountant for any issues. If in doubt, call your local HMRC offices and discuss with them directly.

This number calls about twice a day and has been doing so for about a month. When you answer, it just goes silent.
SCAM / SPAM Called twice, left an automated voicemail both times purporting to be from Customs. The voicemail threatens to take legal action against you if you don't phone back but doesn't give you any specific details. In the voicemail the number to call back is repeated and is different each time. BLOCK!
