Had 3 calls over the last few days from various numbers all starting with the same dalling code, 01926. Just received a text from this number that began 'Morning Mum...' (I'm not a Mum!) and the text said that they are calling from a friends phone and their battery is about to expire so please call them back. They called Yesterday Afternoon, I didn't answer this call but my mobile marked it as SPAM automatically in my missed calls.
Claimed to be from EE offering me an upgrade, either £7 sim only, or £30 unlimited calls/data and an iPhone 14+ for £30, both deals too good to be true! Pushed them to send me the information, got the customer service version of ~what's to think about, just pick one! so I hung up.

Claims to be from HMRC, but does not respond to being called. Is this a scam number?
I think this is a marketing call. No message left, but they tried twice and the same day I received a call from a similar number with 2 different digits - again no message. When I called it (blocking my own number) there's an automated number saying the office is closed and it's 'something' communications (I didn't catch the first word). I figure if it was important / genuine they'd leave a message.
They keep calling, but dont leave a message.
