Call tonight claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and asking if I received cold calls. A man with an Asian accent on a crackly line in a call centre then informed me that my subscription was about to expire. Clearly a scam so I told him what I thought of him and hing up. The number is not registered - is it not time that the phone companues filtered calls from unregistered numbers to stop this sort of abuse as it is untraceable.

I told him his call was recorded and I would phone the police He said please dont do that sir..He then said how can the UK police catch me in India and laughed. Calls my home phone (which is registered with TPS) a minimum of two or three times a week, never leaves a message. If it's genuine, and they need to get in contact with me, they would leave a message.

Called by 0845286 1446 at 1.38pm today, 25/07/2017. There was silence when I answered the phone - I said "hello" twice, then put the phone down. This is the first time I have been called by this calling centre - usually they have a 0203, or 0800 number. I thought cold calling was illegal ?
