Scam claiming to be Amazon and ordered iPhone 7, asked to press 1 to cancel or confirm, had this call twice now.

Unknown number, did not leave text message. Did not pick up as not in my call list.

keeps texting me regarding pensions, doesn t give company details. I don t give my number out.

Supposedly from BT giving me 24 hours notice of my contract being terminated. Press 1 to speak to investigation team. I don t have an account with BT. Call cut off.

Caller asked for someone else who lives in the house by name - after teh ususal telemarketing pause of silence..... When I explained they were not in and asked if I could take a message, the caller sounded annoyed that the person he called for was not in, and then HE HUNG UP. . Cold caller? Telemarketer? Rude - yes!

They tried to get my elderly father to read his bank account number from his debit card to them. They said they were from Talk Talk. They have been ringing daily - sometimes ...

A Google search suggests that the number, if genuine, belongs to ASI Environmental Services (eg asbestos removal) based in Southampton.

Scam, said my washing machine insurance had run out. Not the first time this has happened. Told him to get on his bike (that's the polite version!)

A Google search indicates that the number, if genuine, belongs to a charity called Mary s Meals, which operates in several cities and provides meals for deprived children.

When you answer your phone and if it s a number you don t recognise, DON T SPEAK JUST LISTEN! Wait for the caller to speak first and then decide whether to simply put the phone down. If it s a recorded message, it ll nearly always be a scam or a computer dialling a batch of numbers in sequence and trying to assertain if the number they have just dialled is a voice line. i.e. a private phone number. Ask for their company registration number you should do this with all possible phone calls you really don t want to deal with and insist on it any good company would be more than happy to give you it
