If this was NOT you please visit: https://halifax-payeeverify.com I checked my on line accounts all were fine. I called the number, instead of using the hyperlink has I was suspicious, and was put through to the EE voicemail service. Make of it what you will.....
Rang once, couldn t understand name of company but heard PPI, so put phone down, rang back immediately and the male operative said, "Why did you put the phone down", I replied, "Cos I m not interested". He answered, "Interested in what" in an angry tone, so I just said, "In whatever you re selling" and hung up again. The phone then rang again immediately and I didn t answer. Didn t like the tone of the call at all, or appreciate being rung back a further twice.

Got a call from 01246 255920 it was the same company UK Finance who keep ringing me on different numbers. They said i am due 10 year bank charges but could not tell me which bank. I just keep them on the line saying i need to write the number down then can't find my glasses etc. It must be 6 times they have called asking me to ring 0913 1240 871 which could cost me around £25 a call as it is a premium number. Of course once i do ring 0913 they can then release my cheque. I must have wasted at least an hour

The idea is to extort money from you and they will protect you online. I can see how some may be frightened and fall for this scam. So Be Warned And Don’t Respond.

I filled in a Saga online form for a health cover quote. This telephone number rang me within 5 minutes of filling in the form. As I didn t recognise the number, I didn t answer the call. I then searched and found out that it s a telemarketing call on behalf of Saga. I do not wish to be contacted this quickly, I would prefer to receive their email with my quote and then consider it in my own time.
