Unsolicited phonecall to my ex-directory, TPS registered landline, introducing himself as 'from the Amazon verification department'. Googled the number, it belongs to a fans & spares company in Dagenham.
Had several calls from this number on our mobiles. I rang them back and ascertained from them that they had bought a quantity of telephone numbers from various sources and their computer was ringing them trying to get a positive response to their FREE BOILER initiatave. They are based in Macklesfield SK10 1AF

I have not answered to these people. Not once. Yet, they call at least weekly. I ve got a years line rental with BT paid for up-front, which allows me to block 99% of unwanted calls (with a BT blocker phone purchased separately, in case anyone was wondering). This caller would likely be asking to speak with Mr Strevitt or Mr Gwendoline. As has been the nature of the calls for the past 3 years. SCAM Must be a scam this number randomly called me today. Automated voice saying it was HM revenue & customs claiming that there was a fraud case in my name that I needed to press 1 to speak to the officer on the case. That if I didn't sort it then I'd be arrested shortly. Load of bollacks if you ask me didn't bother pressing 1 & hung up straight away soon as the automated voice got out what it was obviously programmed to say. Probably would have tried to get some sort of financial detail
