My 81 year old father was targeted and asked to insure his 4 year old Indesit washing machine. Unwittingly he set up a d.debit which he cancelled the next day, with the bank, when he realised he already had cover. He rang Appliance Serve and told them too, he was asked to put it in writing which he did. He is now getting calls about his non payment and they are threateneing court action as they said they hadn t received a phone call or letter. Total fraudsters targeting the elderly. #scammers

Phoned me today. I have just had a bereavement in my family so wansnt up to dealing with the call. I told them I would contact them back and the woman said that s fine. Then they phoned again 5 minutes later saying they have personal details to discuss I again said I can t take the call right now. Now I ve had to block them from calling me.

I have been abroad for 2 months and started to receive calls at night in the second week of being away (due to time difference I guess) on average once a week. I have never answered & no message is left. Although the number shows as a regular number on phone call list you can t return the call using the number. On googling area code it shows as Glasgow, & on googling the whole number various sites come up with people recounting similar stories - so I will try to block number / not answer...and would advise
