Nnswered straight away but could hear a call centre in the background, then a heavily Indian accented man calling himself George came on the line. I hung up .

SCAM / SPAM I received an automated voice call from this number at 12:31, supposedly from Amazon Prime informing me that over £70 had been deducted for my membership and I should press "1" to speak to someone to discuss this. I hung up. I am not a member of Amazon Prime and have had calls like this before. I expect if I had spoken to someone, they would have asked for my bank account details so they could cancel it.

although a pontefract code , Chris reckons he is from DFS in Head Office Doncaster. Even stating his postcode as DN6 7NA. He further states, saying there are hundreds of people at doncasetr DFS who could have phoned me here in Shrewsbury despite NO connection whatsover.

Called today, 11.38...Voice said "Hi my names Chris, a local energy advisor, I hope everyone is ok"....I didn't speak and after about 10 seconds the line cuts off. Initially you think its someone there, but it isn't. It says the first recorded part, then waits for a voice to answer, at which point it plays the next part, which usually talks over you. very clever, but a scam nonetheless. Just hang up or say nothing and you are good.

Not sure who this is they rang several times over past few weeks. I have it down on my truecall device as parcelforce but I wasnt expecting any parcels nor got any after they rang. They number is blocked so dont know they rang until i check later

Called claiming to be Scottish Power. I stupidly went through the security questions (address and DOB) as I am in process of leaving Scottish Power. He then said I had a balance to pay on the account and would I like to pay by card. I had suspicions though and said I would do it online - he asked why, at which point I was really suspicious and called up Scottish Power who didn t know the number, and said my account was in credit. I am abroad and had a miss call from this number. As I did not recognize it, I did not return the call. But I started worrying when I saw other 4 missed calls from the same number. Thanks to your reports I saved a roaming call. I HAD a contract with Vodafone, more than a year ago!
The same for us - scammers. Luckily we have BT Guardian so have just added these time wasters to my blocked list so they can't get through again!

Unsolicited call from Chris, my local energy advisor. When I asked who he worked for, he just repeated his name and his vague title. I told him to FO. The reply was; "OK" and that was the end of the call, It was an English sounding voice, but there was a very slight delay that made me doubt it was actually a human. It could have been an intelligent computerised voice that reads off a script. It was annoying and potentially dangerous.
