It appears to be cold calling fund raising drive linked with University of Birmingham (I am an alumnus). Called me at 13.20 GMT. The line was dropped as soon as I answered. This is probably a computer generated call. A person will monitor several lines being dialled by the computer. The operator will pick up a call that gets a 'hit'. All the other lines will then 'drop out' ie hang up because the person monitoring the lines is speaking to some other poor unsuspecting victim.
