Called today saying I had been flagged by the national accident database following a minor bump in Dunfermline. I haven't been in any kind of car accident or claim for a long number of years. They then tried to claim it was somebody else at the same address (but I live alone), and then maybe somebody had put me down as a reference (which they haven't). Told I would be removed from their system.

I have had this number calling me throughout the day. When I finally picked up my phone it turned out that it is a charity company asking to donate money for different kinds of charity activities. They probably got my number somehow because I did donate before.

Usual thing. Clearly voice-activated, as there s a long delay before speaking. Asked to speak to me by surname, so I just hung up. In the past I ve listened to what their introduction, and then politely told them I m not interested, and thanks for calling. Nowadays I just put the phone down. If it s a genuine caller, then they ll call back ... which they never do.
