Had 3 calls over the last few days from various numbers all starting with the same dalling code, 01926. As this is the code where we live, answered the first call - no immediate response but after a few seconds, over a very crackly line, what sounded like a well spoken middle aged white lady, said something along the lines of 'suspicious transactions on my account, one for £300 odd & the other for £1,400 odd & I must do certain things at which point I hung up. They called again and this time I got to the phone in time. He said something 'official sounding' about energy advice. And said loft insulation needed checking every two or three years. When I asked who he was, he ended the call.

My mother has been contacted many times on this and other phone numbers. The message, from the caller is always the same, she tells my mother, first in English and then in Chinese that she has a package waiting for her, to collect from the Chinese embassy. This is clearly a scam call.

Very odd. Lady said she was doing research on behalf of a US charity into healthcare and no personal data would be taken. Asked how she got my number and she said it was 'randomly generated' by a computer. Very odd and certainly not into giving my views on our amazing NHS to a country that wants to bloody buy it off us!!

The organisation using this number are expert scammers. They already had my o2 mobile phone number, contract account number and asked me to confirm my address before offering a discount on my tariff. I was aware it was a scam and played dumb for a while until they sent me the text which would have given them full access to my account had I replied to it. After wasting their time for 10 minutes, I told them I knew they were scammers and they became very abusive, then misscalled my number around 20 times

I am moving from BT because of horrific service. I received a short automated message from BT - stating that they were taking over my line. I called to query this. The guy who answered verified my number, but it was not my number. I told him it was not mine and he abruptly hung up.
