I have just had the same thing tried on me, i agreed to dossier books for schools and an invoice of £195 would be posted out....SCAM!!
This sounds very dodgy from the start but I played along, chatting with a lady with a foreign accent. It's eventually got to the stage where she asked me for my bank account and sorting code, at which point I asked her a very personal question. She then swore at me and hung up. She had mentioned postcode lottery, and assured me that I had won a European holiday and £399 in cash at one point she said the company was called something like travel and leisure.
SCAM Allegedly Open Reach informing me they were about to cut of my internet. My internet provider is not Open Reach!
I received a pre-recorded message from this number claiming that an unauthorized payment has been taken from my Amazon account and that an unauthorized international transfer has taken place from my bank account. I believe this to be a SCAM so, beware!!
SCAM. Knew my name but said it was a call about the gas/electricity rebate. I hung up.

This bunch of idiots continue to make silent calls throughout the day. There is no-one there on pick up. When I call back I get a voicemail saying you were called by the above company and they will call again later. Extremely annoying!!!!!

The Company names they give are Web Security Global, Microsoft 24 Security Support and Web Expert Security – ALL ARE non-existent. These callers are persistent, aggressive and thoroughly unpleasant. They have been reported to Trading Standards and to the Police.

This shower of conmen tried to pass themselkves off as British Gas claiming that I had not responded to their contract letter. When I told them I was recording them and they were not British Gas they denied claiming to be so and hung up. Them them to go forth and multiply themselves.
