Probably building to a scam, claimed to be BT a UK telephone provider investigating illegal activity on my internet, when I inquired as to who might be doing illegal things the caller suggested probably foreigners! The call was made at 7am in the morning to a private number, land line and one only known to family members.

I just had a call from this number. After making the person repeat their name. I informed them that they are through to my local Police station, and that I am det sergeant... And suddenly the phone got cut off, extremely quickly... I wonder why that was?...LMFAO

Called and sent text. Text said that they wanted to discuss business opportunity (???) It IS Advantis, which I understand is a collection agency with gov contracts, but I, WITHOUT ANY DOUBT WHATSOEVER, have NO debt, never mind outstanding debt, and I am DEFINITELY NOT connected to any HMRC "issues", either myself or vicariously. So obviously they either make mistakes, or they are involved in other activities outside of outstanding debt.

I wish I had discovered this website earlier. Adam, the person who has this number has ghosted me twice. He has lied to me as well, pretending he was single when he wasn't. Details are irrelevant and the fact that his number has been searched over 360 times says a lot. Avoid at all costs.

Yes, it s a shame there isn t a way to contact you directly. The story about the daughter n wife dying is one I have been told by others. Plus the immediate desire he had regarding spending his life with me was completely unreal! His pictures also infected my computer with viruses!! fed up with up to 3/5 scams calls a day. Most repetitive is this one about my supposedly Amazon account. Some years ago I signed up to have scam calls stopped to my landline, but it has never worked. At 82 some of them are so harassing I find myself continualling checked them out.
