Said they were from Virgin, and that they'd picked up drops in wifi. As I am with virgin I went along with it initially, but it rang warning bells as was to my work internet phone number (working from home atm). They asked if I was owner of number and bill payer of internet phone line, said no it was for work, and where had they got number, and they hung up.
SCAM number showed as 01942794042 however, it was definitely from a call centre and the female voice started the call with "thank-you for connecting with BT" which seemed odd. Turns out it was one of those dodgy activity on your internet connection calls - as usual I denied having and internet connection a mobile phone and even a landline. She gave up in frustration before I did

SCAM - Automated call - they told me they were from my internet service provider (but didn't give a company name) and that there had been illegal activity so they were going to cut my service.. unless I pressed 1 to speak to an adviser.

Fraud - pretends to be from Amazon saying someone's charging your bank account; to cancel he doesn't want you to go to your actual account, he tries to make you go to a fake website (www.amazon00.weebly.com) where he'll try to rip you off - beware!
Stated he was phoning from Microsoft and became very aggressive and threatening when I said I was not interested.Stated they would cut off my computer .When I asked why he was phoning from a mobile rather than landline he did not respnd nor when I said I would phone Microsoft myself.Think this is most likely to be a scam (if not Microsoft need to be more careful in who they employ!!)

It went to voicemail and an automated voice left a message saying that there had been some suspicious activity on my Amazon account to the amount of £1,400+ and that my account would be locked and I should press 1 or 2 to sort this out. Obviously I didn't. I've checked my account due to receiving the same message from a mobile number a couple of days before and it's fine.

SCAM Received a call apparently from O2 asking if my phone service was good. I said it was fine and hung up. Almost immediately after I received a warning from O2 by text: *SECURITY WARNING* The one-time code you requested will arrive shortly. If someone's calling you and asking for a code, please end the call because they DO NOT work for O2. If you suspect fraud, call us on 202 so we can protect your account. Soon after a code came from O2. This suggests the caller was trying to access my account.

this Indian woman rang me and for over three minutes told me that she was ringing to prevent any nuisance calls to my number in the future. I told her she was being a nuisance.... and she kept telling me that she was from the anti nuisance call line of the UK... that was the extent of the conversation. Felt like it was a Bart Simpson style prank call.
