Claimed to be calling from "credit investigation unit" and government had shortlisted me to write off 90% of my debt. I got him to stop, then said I was recording the call and began quizzing him. The story he spun twisted and flipped, wouldn't answer how/why the government knows what my credit status is, or who compiles the shortlist, or where his employer got it. I repeated that I was recording the call and suggested it was a scam. He swore and cut off the call.

The number = 01709889223, this number phoned me today (at 13:08 on 1st March 2022) and the caller stated they were from BT OUTBOUND ringing about my telephone. They were indian, male and middle aged, they identified themselves as John Martin. I am ex-directory and my phone is registered with the telephone preference service to block sales calls and unwanted calls. I checked online and the number was listed as Indian and Rotherham based. This company uses Voxbone SA (now called bandwidth) services to route calls from scammers. this is just one of many telephone numbers i have had call me trying to scam me and i receive up to six per day for the past few weeks. At the beginning I politely told them that i was not interested requesting them to take my number off their call list and now its straight FO. Sorry for generalising it but it usually an Asian woman or man.

This number +447802691905, has been tracking my mobile phone, I have just found out tonight. I am very worried and concerned about this and for my personal safety. Anyone who is tracking a persons mobile phone is very Dangerous, Something need to be done about this.

Caller ID identified the call was from Bishops Stortford. The caller said he was from O2 offering a 30% discount on my tariff. I told him I was suspicious of this call, he diverted me to another person who repeated the discount spiel. Asked why I'd be getting a discount, he said many complaints to O2 has led them to offer 'selected customers' a discount; I wouldn't have to give him any personal details, he would send me 2 texts. so I told him to sod off and disconnected the call. Reported to the ICO
