Fraud - automated call saying it was my bank (didn't say which bank!!!) detailed two transactions it said was made this morning one to Amazon and one a transfer abroad. Asked me to press 1 to cancel transactions or 2 to authorize. I'm guessing that this would then take me to a premium line number or someone asking for my details. I just hung up of course. The scary thing is that it showed as coming from a local dialing code or I wouldn't have answered it.

SCAM / SPAM Indian/Pakaistan/Bangladesh accented male phoned me to offer monthly repair cover on my washing machine. Could offer as a one-off an 18month cover for £99 - paid by debit or credit card now. The monthly cover is by direct debit - presume they would want my account details for that. Told me it was a manufacturer warranty (told me my machine is a Hotpoint when I asked - it's a BEKO). When I showed interest in the 18 month cover he passed me to a manager. I couldn't understand the gentleman very well. He asked me to confirm my name and when I refused he became rather flustered. He asked me again and I said "No, you called me. You should know who I am." I asked what the company was called and was unable to understand the name but got a very round about explanation of them helping me with a PPI claim without actually mentioning those letters.
