It was a Northumbria Water call alert about a leak in the area. A visit to the website confirmed that there was a local problem. (Why can't these companies publish the numbers they use to make calls?)

Came up as international then with an obvious spoof copycat area number. Glasgow isn t international if you are in Scotland. Not a problem- now blocked all international numbers using call blocker. Phone is on do not disturb 24/7 so if you aren t recognised then you don t get through. Heads I win, tails I win.
Holly Baldwin, Silvershine Services called my mobile today, asking about the accident I had just had. Asked where she got my number she said Road Traffic Accident Department which obviously is twaddle, or there own internal RTA department. When pressed repeatedly about the department she put the phone down. Shame, I was just getting warmed up.

This is despite only having changed my landline number a couple of weeks ago (because of many such scamming and harassment calls).I went ex directory and only let a few friends know the new number. Had numerous calls from this company asking for us by name,They are a Home Insurance brokers. We have reported them as have TPS and they are making a continious nuisance of themselves.
Missed call but did ring Yorkshire Housing earlier to report a repair so will likely be a survey on my experience. Always get one unless I withhold my number.
